Found it! Thank you, loverwren. The reason I was looking for this was because I had a BruceTim idea that had originally been inspired by this and had been sitting on my hardrive since, until tonight the details suddenly came together.
Onto the fic idea:
Sweet and fluffy, D/s + Bondage,Bruce/Tim AU where sexualized slavery is a thing. They’re a
little bitvery weird in that they actually have a fairly healthy relationship.(I have this vague backstory behind that, where Tim’s mother used to be a slave, but, ah…it’s Janet. She got stabbitty and headed for the hills, eventually marrying Jack and having Tim. Authorities had finally caught up with her, and since a child inherits their mother’s status, Tim’s fair game. She tells him to run, and he does.
Hiding on the streets, dodging police, etc, he runs into Batman one night post Jason being badly injured (but alive) from the joker’s attack in Ethiopia, and ends up helping out. This continues to happen for a while, with Tim becoming something of a steady partner to Bruce.
Eventually, the police are about to catch up to Tim, and Bruce claims ownership to protect him. They’d already been toying with the D/s dynamic with Tim’s unofficial Robin’ing. Tim can actually leave any time-disguise closet plus training plus Tim is Janet’s son plus Bruce making sure the option is available-which means Tim actually has enough options to make the decision to engage or not engage in the relationship.)
Beyond that, I have a handful of disconnected scenes that I’d like to write, someday. (Not November, b/c NaNo, not December, b/c Steph/Cass switched-at-birth fic…)
Bruce cuffs Tim’s hands behind his back. He can’t work like that- so he doesn’t have to. Theme exploration of Tim’s subspace, the rules and expectations he has for himself, and the comfort he finds in handing over control, knowing he’ll only be given as much back as he can handle.
Tim waiting, kneeling by Bruce’s door, after some highly traumatic event makes him retreat into the safety of his own head.. Bruce walks in, sees Tim, and realizes he’s been there for hours. He gives Tim the order to help him with his coat, so Tim has something to focus. Tim takes refugee in being allowed to act as a manservant (removing his master’s coat and hanging it up, kneeling and untying shoes, etc.) and being allowed to demonstrate his devotion and gratitude, his desire to serve. A focus on the meditative quality of Tim’s behavior.
Other things- falling asleep leaning against Bruce’s legs, some exploration of the dynamic between Batman and Robin vs. Tim and his owner vs. Tim and Bruce, politics and other various forces mean that Bruce has to put a collar on Tim for some public event. Tim disliking it (because it reminds him of the fact that he very nearly didn’t have a choice) but doing his best to act the part, because Bruce asked it of him.
